Valley View -elizabeth vale

Congratulations to the under 8s on their first win of the season beating  Elizabeth Vale 3-0. The 3 goals scored by Luca, Carlo and Tyrin. It was a slow start to the season losing the first 3 games but with the introduction of a formation and some hard work at training we managed to turn a negative scoreline into a positive one within the space of 4 weeks. Everyone played really well giving their all to make sure we secured the win. I also want to praise the two goalkeepers (Tyrin and Thomas) who did a magnificent job in keeping a clean sheet.

Well done everyone and let's keep this win streak going

VVSC 8 -0 Eliz Grove

Kelechi got us off to a good  start to run half the pitch with just the keeper to beat to make it 1-0.

Some good work by Kelechi who played Brannon thru whom ran past a couple of defenders to out us 1 up.

Aiden was fouled by the keeper at the top of the 18yard box the ref played advantage and the ball fell to Alexei to get his first to make it 3-0.

With some good built up play the ball ended up out wide whom Alexei squared to Brannon for a simple tap in to make it 4-0.

Half time.

Kelechi got another 2 goals to get his 2nd hat-trick of the season.

Nathan squared the ball to Aiden whom got a goal he richly deserved.

To round if off some good work by Meagan resulted in the ball ending up to Mico whom scored his first of the season .

A great team effort to score 8 goals and keep a clean sheet well done team.

U15 ROUND 5 - vs Mod. Vista

We travelled to M.V. on Sunday morning knowing we would be in for a big game as they always are against them and given they are top and undefeated made it even more challenging. The game got started at a great pace with both teams attacking each other’s goal and unfortunately for us they scored from a half chance and it was 1-0 to them. We continued to pressure them but couldn’t find a way through and the first half ended at 1-0. Second half resumed and we attacked from the outset but lost Josiah ( who battled on bravely ) to injury and our bench now became 2. Both teams were relentless with their attack with us having the best chances to score, even in the dying seconds we were so agonisingly close to take a draw but again luck wasn’t there to help. Well done to all the players who made me so proud of them for not getting involved in M.V’s bully boy tactics ( and feral-ness from their coaching staff ) and for standing up to all the abuse and after tackles you received from their players. Thanks to Troy for running the line and to all our family supporters who had to (unfortunately) witness what M.V had to offer.

Now you know why VVSC is your club.

Putting the disappointment of last week behind them, the boys showed their true character and ability by completely dominating this game. Every player won their position convincingly. Our first goal arose from good team play which saw Antonio cleverly dissect the defence directly to Mitch who expertly placed his shot into goal. Our second goal was again from very good team play which led to a pass from Antonio which was finished off nicely by Nick.  Our third goal resulted from one of the very many outstanding corner kicks kicked in by Daniel which in this case worked its way into goal by way of an own goal.  Our fourth goal was again from good team play which saw Antonio dribble and turn past a number of defenders before completely flat footing the goalkeeper.  We could have scored many more goals but the scoreline was a true reflection of our control of this game.

Goals: Mitch (1); Nick (1) and Antonio (1).
