U17 Match Report

Valley View 2 drew with Barossa Valley 2

Some forced positional changes meant this team today was unbalanced and untried in certain positions particularly up forward and in defence and this showed early as we did not work well as a team for some parts of this game.  Barossa scored first due to defensive error and there was some concern we were jinxed against this Barossa team (that did defaft us in the first game this year).  However these concerns quickly evaporated as the team did manage to work together soon after and this lead to our first goal (a tap in by Josh).  This was to be the half time score 1 all.

Our boys dominated the second half with chances after chances but failed to score until a very good corner kick by Daniel led to Antonio heading in our second goal to put us 1 up with 7 minutes to play. Sadly we could not keep this lead as Barossa soon after made an attacking move and this led to a shot on goal that found the net.  There was to be no more scoring and this was the final score 2 all. It did feel like we threw away 2 points today but at least we did manage to win one point.

Goal scorers: Josh (1) and Antonio (1).
